Nutrition Challenge ~ COMPLETE!

Monday marked the final day of the nutrition challenge I had been participating in with my boot camp. I do not really consider myself to be a competitive person, but I find having a group of motivated people around me brings out the competitiveness. So maybe I am a tad competitive!

In order to determine a winner, we are being scored on three different items:

  1. Overall point score (see my post here for description on point system)
  2. Best time overall on bench mark workout (see below for workout details)
  3. Most improved times on bench mark & in weight/measurements.

My goal had been to lose 10lbs. in six weeks, which I knew was going to be a stretch. My final weight, measurements & times are as follows:

                       Day 1:                                                  Day 42:

  • Weight: 118.8 lbs.  ——————    112.8 lbs.
  • Waist: 25.5 in. ————————    22.5 in.
  •  Hips: 35.5 in. ————————-     34.5 in.

Bench Mark Workout

Run 1/2 mile

  • 3 Rounds of:
  • 100 Jumping Jacks
  • 80 Mountain Climbers (total)
  • 60 Squats
  • 40 Push Ups
  • 20 Burpees

Run 1 mile

I didn’t get a look at my original bench mark time, but I improved by 6 minutes!! Running is not my forte, so I knew that I needed to do the exercises as quickly as possible in order to get a head start on the run. I ended up being the first done with the circuit, but had to sprint the last quarter mile to keep my first place spot.  I ended up coming in a second or two after our resident marathon runner.

We will hopefully have the results next week – we do not know what the prize will be yet, but I am hoping for a FREE month of boot camp! In celebration, I ate the most delicious piece of chocolate torte, and then subsequently had a huge stomach ache. Totally worth it.

MyFitnessPal app was been my best friend these last 6 weeks, and I am going to stick with it as I found it extremely helpful in seeing my calorie intake and keeping myself on track. Plus, bathing suit season is already here and I’ve got my eye on a new bikini!
